The wonderful fragrance of the Awapuhi-Keโ€™okeโ€™o (white ginger) fills the hiking trails of the lush Hawaiian forests. A native of India, Ginger is believed to be one of the only lei making flowers brought to Hawaii by the early Polynesian voyagers. These delicate flowers are braided Micronesian-style to create a very elegant flat lei.
