The kukui, or candlenut tree, was probably introduced to Hawaii by early Polynesian settlers, because it has always been an essential part of Hawaiian society. Ti Leaf Lei Process: Ti leaves are frozen or baked to create pliability for our lei making process. This preparation darkens the color of the ti leaf a bit and also preserves the strength and integrity of the leaf, ensuring it will hold up beautifully when worn.

DURABILITY
Our fresh ti leaf leis are very durable. If they arrive a bit sticky, wipe them with a clean damp cloth, let them dry, and return them to a plastic bag in the refrigerator until ready to use.
